Ross Butcher (South Africa) began playing the trombone at the age of 13. In 2002 he completed a Bachelor of Music major in Orchestral Performance at the University of Natal, Durban. In the same year he was appointed 2nd trombone of the Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra. His stage experience includes, full time stage musician at the Barnyard Theatre, Big bands, Dixieland.. etc In 2008 he was selected for the Verbier Festival Orchestra and in the same year he completed a Concert Diploma under Andrea Bandini at the Geneva Conservatoire. Ross's previous teachers include, Serge Filiatreault, David Rey, Seth Quistad, Simon Dixon and Kurt Sturzenegger. He is currently studying a Master in specialised interpretation under Stefan Legée. Ross performs regularly with the Suisse Romande Orchestra as an extra player.

Francesco D'Urso

Francesco D’Urso(Italy) began playing the trombone at the age of 11. He studied at the Nino Rota Conservatory in Monopoly under Giuseppe Guida and completed his diploma with the highest results in 2005 as well as being admitted into the theatre lyric “A. Belli" in Spoleto. In 2007 he was accepted into the orchestral studies program with the Suisse Romande orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Geneve and “Contrechamps” Geneva Orchestra. In 2008 he won Second Prize in the international competition for trombones at Aosta. In 2009 He completed his Master in Orchestral performance under Andrea Bandini at the Geneva Conservatoire with merit. Francesco performs regularly with the Rai Orchestra of Turin and the Suisse Romande Orchestra as an extra player.

Christophe Legrand(France) began playing the trombone at the age of 9. He obtained jury commendation at the Conservatoire of Orléans under Alain Recordier in 2004 and also in 2005 the DEM Regional of Orleans for trombone and chamber music under Jean Paul Leroy(Quintet Arban). He has worked in « l’Orchestre des Jeunes du Centre » (OJC) France. His stage experience includes participation in many genres including Ska, Funk, Reggae etc. Festivals include, Festivaleur’local , Les Astronomiques , Air du barouf , Musique en scène , Baules d’air , Les Musicales d’Ingres, Festicolors. In 2009 completed his Bachelor of Music under Andrea Bandini in the Conservatoire of Geneva with merit. He is currently studying a Masters in Orchestral Performance at the Geneva Conservatoire and with the Suisse Romande Orchestra.

Jean-Sebastian Scotton

Jean-Sebastien Scotton(France)began playing trombone at the age of 12 years at the Conservatory of Annecy with Jean-Michel Frécaut. In 2002 he joined the class of Alain Manfrin in Rueil Malmaison, where he obtained his diploma a year later .In 2003, he entered Michel Becquet's class at the Conservatory of Lausanne and in 2007 he obtained a Concert diploma(Masters). In 2008, he won first prize at the first international Trombone competition of Aosta Italy, he was awarded second prize at the same competition in 2009. Currently, Jean-Sebastien is called regularly to play with the Chamber Orchestra of Lausanne. He also is an extra player in the RAI Orchestra of Turin and the Turin opera(Italy).

Music deserves to be the compulsary second language in all the schools in the world!


Moya's members have taken master classes with Christian Linberg, Jay Friedman, Michel Becquet, Simone Candotto, Christophe Sanchez, Alexandre Faure, Andrea Conti, Jorgen van Rijan, Ben van dyk. Sacbut with Stephen Legée and Danial Lasalle. Euphonium with Stephen Mead.
