MOYA Tours to South Africa February-March
2010

The MOYA Trombone Quartet will be touring South Africa in
Febuary and March next year with concerts in Johannesberg and Durban. The
Concert program is being finalised but will include our regular program, an
Opera Program with soloists, a jazz program as well as new music.

MOYA's Year Summary 2008-09
The MOYA Trombone Quartet has had an Interesting busy year.
Starting off with a bang in a tour to Budapest. Our most important concert
following this were a special concert at Trossingen Hochschule to open the
Trombone Quartet Accademy with our teacher Abbie Conant, participated in a
workshop conducted by renowned Sacbutist Stefan Legèe and Cornetist William
Dongoise, the IPV Trombone symposium in Stuttgart(www.ipf2009.de),
Live Broadcast on RSR2 for Saterday Kiosk de musique(June) and the Schwarzwald
music festival in Freudenstadt(June www.ohrenfreuden.de). Our members have also
been very active in there orchestral careers playing Guest Principle with the
RAI of Turin Symphony Orchestra, With the Suisse Romande orchestra, Accademia
Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber orchestra, Verbier
Festival orchestra among others. Francesco D'Urso passed his Orchestral
musician masters with Mention Bien and Christophe Le Grand passed his Bachelor
of Music with Mention Bien aswell. Moya is looking forward to an exciting
2009-2010 season with many big projects planned notably a tour to South Africa
in Febuary and March 2010.

19/06/09 Francesco and Christophe complete there
degree's!
Congratulations to MOYA members Christophe and Francesco on completing there
degree's. Francesco his Orchestral Masters Diploma and Christophe Legrand his
Bachelor of Music both achieved there degrees with Merit. Here is the program
for Christophe's Recital.

07/03/09 MOYA just played at the IPV Trombone symposium

08/02/09 Francesco completed his final recitals for his
Orchestral Masters diploma with Merit!
Francesco performed 2 excellent programs with a little bit of everything! One
in February and one in June. He premiered a new piece by Kayo Nakaaki called La
Pierre written as part of group of pieces about a Japanese Garden. It is
written for Trombone and Electro-acoustic music. A very Interesting piece, a
video and recording will be coming later this year. For those of you that speak

08/02/09 MOYA goes German.

In Preperation for our upcoming concerts in Germany our site now has some
sections availible in German!!! Check it out!
07/02/09 Our Local Brass Shop.
I have just added our local Brass shop to our links, Servette Music also
makers of the Hagmann valve. Rene Hagmann is someone who has helped all our
members tremedously over the years with the maintenence, modifications as well
as selling us some fine instruments along the way!!

04/02/09 MOYA and Baroque music.
This weekend Moya participated in a workshop conducted by renowned Sacbutist
Stefan Legèe and Cornetist William Dongois. Both are professors at the Geneva
Conservatoire. The focus of this workshop was works for large ensembles by
Giovanni Gabrielli. Photos and Sound extracts will be forthcoming.........

19/11/08 New Program Previews concert at Trossingen
Conservatoire. 
Moya returns from a successful concert in Trossingen on the 19th of
November!!We really had a great time previewing some new, special additions to
our programs.
Firstly, We played a new arrangement of La Boheme from our ".....four the
Opera...." program. To be premiered early next year including, Overture from
magic flute, Queen of the night, Intermezzo from Cavalieri Rustican, Extracts
from Prince Igor, Extracts from Tanhauser and der Valkyrie's, The William Tell
overture, L'elesir d'amore and much more.
Secondly we premiered our new dance choreography. Fun and a definate must
see..
Moya would also lke to present its latest repertoire for Trombone quartet and
choir!
